Chemical Equation Balancer
Enter the reactants and products as chemical formulae or chemical names. Separate different substances with a plus sign.
Accepted input
You can use either chemical names or chemical formulae.
For example, magnesium + hydrochloric acid can be entered instead of
Mg + HCl. Ordinary formulae and nested parentheses/brackets are supported,
including Ca(OH)2, Al2(SO4)3 and K4[Fe(CN)6].
Ionic charge can be written with a caret, for example Fe^3+,
SO4^2-, H^+ and e^-.
The built-in system now includes a broad cation/anion database and automatically constructs many ionic formulae from ion charges.
