Isomerism is the relation of at least two compounds that would have the same molecular formula but a different structure.
There are two types of isomerism: Structural Isomerism and Geometric Isomerism.
Structural Isomerism
Structural isomers are molecules with the same molecular formula, but their atoms have different arrangements or bonds.
Geometric Isomers
Geometric isomers are molecules with the same molecular formula, but their atoms have a different spatial arrangement.
